This year’s very much anticipated summer school is based on the well known and extremely popular series Stranger Things. Set in the 1980s, the series centers around the residents of the fictional small town of Hawkins, Indiana, as they are plagued by a hostile alternate dimension known as the Upside Down, after a nearby human experimentation facility opens a gateway between it and the normal world. Love, friendship and family are core themes in Stranger Things – characters can be seen consistently fighting for friends and family and strengthening their relationships with their loved ones. We will be looking at these themes along with the thrilling adventures that happen within this world. We will also be using songs from Kate Bush to inspire some physical theatre elements as part of a performance that family and friends will be able to come along and see at the end of the week. Performance time tbc but will be sometime between 2-3 pm on Friday 28th July 2023.
