The Dorset School of Acting is a national drama school. It offers two full time courses and a 12 week part time course.
For those wishing to pursue a serious career as a professional performer the 1 year diploma in acting & musical theatre and 12 week intensive audition preparation course in acting & musical theatre are the ideal choices. Whilst the 1 year diploma delivers a fully rounded training equivalent to the first year of a degree at drama school and offers a Level 4 qualification, the 12 week course focuses on every element of preparing you for auditions whether that is for drama school or for the industry. Both courses include our unique and highly successful approach to acting, “The Process” and gives students the tools to be truthful performers.
Our 2 year vocational sixth form course in performing arts with acting is ESFA funded making it free for those aged 16-19 years (*top up private funding may be applicable). This offers a level 3 (OCR) vocational qualification in performing arts equivalent to 3 A-Levels. This course allows young people to access free performing arts education & training within a drama school.
Based within a working theatre and the largest arts centre outside London, our courses nurture students through the differing levels of performance training and provide a pathway for those interested in pursuing a career in the performing arts industry.
To be part of the Dorset School of Acting is to become the next generation of fearless actors and performers.
