The Dorset School of Acting

Welcome to The Dorset School of Acting, a bright and fearless school offering vocational training in Acting & Musical Theatre.

The school was founded by James Bowden & Laura Roxburgh to bring world class vocational actor training onto the South coast. The philosophy of the school is to nurture and develop students’ talent and create a personalised training tailored to their individual needs. It has now developed it’s own systematical approach to acting, “The Process” which is unique to the school.

Students from our courses have gone in to professional work both in theatre, television and film, gained places in actor’s agencies and from our 1 year diploma course, have been offered places at RADA, LAMDA, Royal Central, LIPA, ALRA, Rose Bruford, GSA, Italia Conti, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School & East 15.

The DSA has an exceptional faculty who teach across the school all with professional industry experience and is supported by patrons Dame Harriet Walter and Rachel Tucker.
